this is the kanji for tree: 木
if you combine it with the kanji for mouth (口)
you can get this : 杏 . It's a mouth open, waiting under a tree. This kanji means apricot.
So I'll never forget the kanji for apricot because I just think of open mouths catching falling apricots. Yum.
